Chief Executive Officer

The National Director (CEO), based in Sydney, will assume leadership of Australia's largest human rights organisation; one which has experienced rapid growth over the past five years. For more details see Amnesty International Australia's website.

The Position

  • Advise the Board on strategy and policy development and lead a senior executive team
  • Direct the national operations across 7 sites with a turnover of $16m, a staff of over 70 and a strong volunteer base
  • Lead and ensure continued growth by encouraging innovative fundraising solutions, engaging existing and new supporters and gaining further support for the campaigns of AIA

The Requirements

  • A track record in the strategic and operational management of a complex and growing organisation. Knowledge and understanding of good governance
  • Ability to promote and position an organisation in the public sphere
  • A background in a leadership role of a member- based organisation or one with a large volunteer presence will be beneficial
  • Commitment to the protection and promotion of human rights
