Let's party on International Women's Day

For this year's International Women's Day on 8 March, Amnesty International Australia is asking supporters to gather and celebrate with an IWD party in their home, workplace or online!

Keep an eye on our website in the coming weeks or register now to receive your party pack or for information on parties happening in your area.

Join your local team

Stop Violence Against Women Campaign teams around Australia organise activities, events and campaigns to defend women's human rights.

More people are needed around the country to help organise International Women's Day events and other activities throughout the year.

Please get in touch with your local Activist Resource Centre for more details, including meeting times and contact details.

Take action to help a Saudi Arabian woman

Amnesty International is concerned that the safety and security of Fatima, a 34 year old woman and mother of two children in Saudi Arabia, will be jeopardised if a court divorce judgement against her is enforced.

The court case was initiated by her half-brother using his powers as her male guardian. Fatima was happily married and her situation now leaves her at risk of domestic violence if sent back to her brother's home.

Please take action today to help Fatima and her family.

March online against domestic violence

Did you know that in some countries up to 69% of women have been physically abused by their male partners?

It's everyone's business to stop domestic violence and you can do something about it. Please march against domestic violence today - it's an easy way to stand up against violence towards women.
