Ma Khin Khin Leh has been released

Dear friend,

Last year, you talked to one of our street campaigners about two prisoners of conscience in Burma (Myanmar). You may have even signed one of the postcards calling for their release.

Well, we’ve got some great news. Just a few days ago, we heard that Ma Khin Khin Leh had been released!

You may remember Ma Khin Khin Leh’s story. She was sentenced to life in prison, after the authorities could not find her husband who’d been planning a peaceful pro democracy rally. Even by the harsh standards of justice in Myanmar, her sentence was extreme.

Although we should celebrate Ma Khin Khin Leh’s release, there are still thousands of prisoners of conscience in Myanmar’s jails – including Myo Min Zaw who we also talked to you about.

We’ve collected thousands of signatures for Myo Min Zaw and will continue to call for his release.

Thank you for your support. There really is power in numbers and with your help we can bring about positive change for human rights.

Thanks
Rose Kulak
