This year we’re honoured to be sponsoring the Speaking Out Tent, a programme designed to create awareness of human rights issues facing Indigenous Australians. The day will kick off at 10am with "The Annual Kevin Cook Lecture" - sponsored by Tranby College - to be given by Tom Calma, Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Social Justice Commissioner.
Following this will be the national launch of the Amnesty International booklet on the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.
Speakers include:
- Tom Calma, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Justice Commissioner
- Claire Mallinson, National Director Amnesty International
- Rodney Dillon, Indigenous Rights Campaigner Amnesty International
So join us and celebrate Australia’s largest one-day festival of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures at the Yabun Festival 2010.
