Hear from Salil Shetty and other leading thinkers from around the world at this year’s Festival of Dangerous Ideas.

|
Dear friend,
I’m thrilled to let you know that we’re participating in this year’s Festival of Dangerous Ideas, held at the Sydney Opera House from 30 September to 2 October.
Amnesty International’s global Secretary General Salil Shetty will be talking about his dangerous idea - that western politicians should stop lecturing others about human rights. You’ll also hear from other leading thinkers from around the globe including Wikileaks editor-in-chief Julian Assange, human rights lawyer Julian Burnside and award-winning American Egyptian journalist Mona Eltahawy.
What’s more, as a Festival of Dangerous Ideas 2011 partner, we’re offering you priority access to ticket sales before they open to the general public on Monday 8 August. Click here to buy your tickets today.
Each year the festival offers a series of provocative debates on the toughest and most pressing issues of the modern world -- and this year is no exception. From whether torture is a necessary to save lives, to Australia’s treatment of refugees and asylum seekers, each speaker will stimulate conversation and provoke debate in the audience.
Tickets sales open to the general public on Monday 8 August -- so be quick and book your tickets today. We hope you can come along to hear from Salil Shetty and other distinguished speakers, and take advantage of this very special priority sale.
