Dear friend,
Something special is going to happen this Monday night.
Channel Ten's 7pm Project is featuring a special report on the traditional Aboriginal homelands of Utopia - taking the voices and stories from this remote community into living rooms across Australia.
It'll be a great program to tune into, and will spur huge awareness of the campaign we've been building with homelands residents in the Northern Territory.
With a prime time spotlight on homelands, decision-makers in Canberra are going to be paying close attention to any response from the public. Let's use this moment to let the Indigenous Affairs Minister Jenny Macklin and Indigenous Health Minister Warren Snowden know that you don't want to see the government abandon homelands.
Part of the reason the government can get away with stripping funds for essential services from people who live on homelands is that the rest of Australia doesn't often hear about it. It's an issue that doesn't get a lot of media attention.
But that's about to change, thanks to you.
When the producers learned of this campaign - and the actions of thousands of Amnesty International supporters - they approached us about doing a story. Now hundreds of thousands of Australians are about to hear about the injustice on homelands, and learn about how they can help to stop it.
Together, we will pressure Indigenous Affairs Minister Jenny Macklin and Indigenous Health Minister Warren Snowden to respect homelands as a place where Aboriginal Australians can live, work and raise their families with their identity, connection to country and way of life intact. If you haven't already, send your message to the Ministers now.
Thanks for helping these voices to be heard at long last, we couldn't do this without you.

PS: Don't worry if you can't tune in to watch the program live - you'll be able to watch it later on the 7pm Project website.
