Research mission sent to Gaza
Dear friend,
Israeli troops have moved deeper into the suburbs of Gaza City, endangering yet more innocent people in a senseless conflict that has now claimed over 1,000 lives. Meanwhile, three rockets were fired from Lebanon towards northern Israel, adding to the daily attacks from within Gaza by Palestinian armed groups.
In the last few days we have sent a rapid response team to the Gaza borders in Egypt and southern Israel, to interview affected individuals and pressure the Israeli and Egyptian authorities to open up corridors of aid into the region.

Their presence is critical to report on human rights atrocities and uncover real experiences of civilians trying to survive amidst the chaos. Your donation will help with this crucial work.
“Israeli security has denied entry to the Gaza Strip to baby food and nappies, children's clothes, hearing aid batteries for deaf children and spare parts for hospital equipment". Donatella Rivera, AI researcher speaking from southern Israel, 12 January
Last week's UN resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire was disregarded by both parties. They continue to justify their own crimes by arguing they are in response to attacks by the other side. And in truce talks yesterday it became clear that neither party is willing to take the first step towards peace.
The cycle of blame needs to stop - help us bring those accountable to justice.
