Last month the National Human Rights Consultation Committee gave a clear recommendation for a Human Rights Act for Australia, based on our country's biggest ever public consultation.
As you read this, key decision makers are meeting to formulate the Federal Government's response to the Committee’s report. The government is expected to announce a response to the report before the end of the year, and it may or may not include a commitment to a Human Rights Act.
This means that right now is the critical time to remind our politicians about the strong calls from across Australia for a Human Rights Act, and to let them know that we expect them to adopt the report's recommendations.
Please get in touch with key decision makers today, and get a Human Rights Act for Australia across the line
With politicians meeting from 15 to 25 November for the sitting of Parliament, we need to make sure they've got the committee's report recommendations front-of-mind over the next couple of weeks. The best way to contact them urgently is by simply picking up the phone and calling them.
You can get their contact details at our website, along with some useful tips and points for your phone call. You can also leave details about who you spoke to and share ideas for others to use.

Our leaders are putting together their response to Australia's overwhelming call for greater human rights protection - right now is the critical moment to remind them that we're paying attention. Please pick up the phone and call for a Human Rights Act for Australia.
