Don’t let war criminals get away with murder
Dear friend,
Over the last five weeks the world has looked on in horror as women, men and children have borne the brunt of the conflict in Gaza and southern Israel.
With a fragile ceasefire now in place, an Amnesty fact-finding mission has begun to uncover the full scale of the devastation. Our researchers have found undeniable evidence of war crimes by both sides in the conflict, including Israel's use of deadly white phosphorus against Palestinian civilians and Hamas rockets being fired recklessly into Israeli residential areas.
Email Kevin Rudd now to urge the UN to investigate these abuses of international law
White phosphorous is a type of artillery ammunition that ignites in contact with oxygen. A phosphorous burn does not heal, but continues to smoke and smolder deep inside the body. Our researchers documented civilians with phosphorous wounds who – because local doctors had no idea how to treat these unusual burns – died as a result of their injuries.
Their deaths are not the inevitable consequences of war. These casualties represent mounting evidence of war crimes, committed on both sides of the conflict.
Don’t let these crimes go unpunished – send your email to Kevin Rudd now
Last month, when thousands of you answered our calls for support and action to demand a ceasefire, we proved our actions have impact. Now it’s time to fulfill our role as global citizens once again, and seek justice for the people of Israel and Palestine.
Thank you,
Claire Mallinson

PS. Please forward this email to your friends and family. Without justice there can be no peace for the long-suffering civilians of Israel and Palestine.
